1. Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Before culture had a single word to say about womanhood, God had already spoken.
Women were created in His image. We are not an afterthought or a lesser version of man, but we equally bear God’s likeness from the very beginning.
2. Psalm 139:14
While this verse was originally written by a man (King David), its message resonates with women profoundly.
When faced with the impossible beauty standards and unrealistic expectations that surround us every single day, we don’t have to fall prey to discouragement or self-loathing.
You were not an accident or a rough draft. God Himself intentionally and wonderfully made you.

3. 1 Peter 3:3-4

While there is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best, this verse reminds us that true beauty has little to do with our outward appearance.
True beauty comes from a quiet, gentle spirit—one more concerned with pleasing God than with impressing those around us.
4. 1 Timothy 2:9-10
… Women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.
This verse was originally written to encourage the first-century women in Ephesus to dress more modestly, but the heart of its message isn’t about clothes at all.
It is a reminder that we should not present ourselves in a showy, flashy way meant to draw undue attention to ourselves or make ourselves appear more impressive than we are.
We don’t go to church to be noticed or admired. Instead, our goal should be to bring glory to God.
5. Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
While this verse seems to speak very negatively about charm and beauty, its core message is not that these attributes are wrong. (Beauty is praised elsewhere in the Bible.) Rather, the Bible is using comparison to show that these traits can easily get you into trouble.
Instead of trying to be charming or beautiful to get others’ attention and affection, our time is much better spent becoming a godly woman who truly loves and serves the Lord.

6. Proverbs 31:25
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
This verse paints a beautiful picture of what godly womanhood can and should look like, no matter which century you are living in.
We don’t have to fret and chase beauty to make ourselves desirable. Rather, we can clothe ourselves in strength and dignity, knowing that the God of the universe created us specifically and holds our future in His loving hands.
7. Proverbs 31:17
She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
Scripture doesn’t shy away from portraying women as capable and strong.
This is because the Bible never intended to turn us into secondary characters whose only function is serving our husbands and children. We are strong and important, not secondary or lesser.
8. Proverbs 14:1
The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.
As a woman, you have tremendous influence over those around you. This is particularly true if you have a husband or children but is also true in other roles and positions of influence or authority (boss, manager, coworker, friend, volunteer).
This verse is an important reminder that we must be careful with our influence and strength, as the words and actions we choose today can have a lasting impact on those around us.

9. Titus 2:3-5
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. Society loves to tell older women that our value diminishes as we age, but this isn’t the picture we see portrayed in these Bible verses for women at all.

Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.
It can be easy to dismiss others’ experiences or treat them harshly. This verse provides a good reminder that we are all valuable in Christ and we should treat everyone with love and respect.

Reading these Bible verses for women is a wonderful first step. The real gift, though, comes when you carry them into your day and put them into practice.
Here are a few simple ways to start:
Pick one verse and write it somewhere you’ll see it often, such as your bathroom mirror, the lock screen on your phone, or on a sticky note on your dashboard. Read it regularly to remind yourself of God’s truth.
Pray Scripture back to God when old thoughts show up. When comparison or self-doubt creeps in, don’t just push the thought away. Use it as a prayer prompt. For example, you could pray: “God, you say I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Help me believe that today.”
